About the book trailer:

Created by Noah Fishman and John Loxterkamp, this film is a frame-by-frame stop motion animation, where drawings were created line-by-line and brush-stroke-by-brush-stroke. All post production visuals – editing, creation of titles, and impeccable synching with the soundtrack– were created by John. The original music, with keyboards, bass, glockenspiel, and drums, was composed, played, recorded, and engineered by Noah. For more information on this cool collaboration, click HERE.

What is Fotoplay?
Photographs and fragments of photographs composed on pages as visual prompts.
An invitation to play on, play with, and play off-of.
Why did you create it?
Because I saw how much fun my students were having drawing on my photographs.
Because a photographic prompt (in comparison to a hand drawn “doodle” prompt) elicits a unique response.
Because it allows a young (or not so young) artist to move from the photographic realm to the hand-made realm.
Because the resulting images are mysterious, unpredictable, clever and inspiring.
Who is it for?
I originally designed my pages for children age 3-13. But adults love Fotoplay too.
How do you create your Fotoplay pages?
I’ve got an archive of more than twenty-five years of photographs to work with.
The rest is magic…
